Wirral Gin is a true artisan gin. Entirely distilled using the vapour extraction method this gin is made by hand in small batches.
Wirral Gin is only made on our favourite still "Thumbelina" near to Vineyard farm in Spital, Wirral.
The gin is floral led and aromatic with some delicate warmth from the bog myrtle and juniper in the background. The palate has an intriguing mix of bittersweet with a floral lift that deepens into pine with a hint of spice at the end.
Featured botanicals Bog Myrtle.
This Gin was chosen by the people of Wirral when hundreds of locals attended blind tastings and overwhelmingly chose the Bog Myrtle led gin. Wirral literally means "myrtle corner", from the Old English wir, a myrtle tree, and heal, an angle, corner or slope. It is supposed that the Wirral was once overgrown with bog myrtle, a plant still plentiful around Formby, to which the Wirral would once have had a similar habitat. The name was given to the Hundred of Wirral (or Wilaveston) around the 8th century.
Silent Pool Gin
Silent Pool Gin is a classic gin at heart, full bodied and fresh with depth, clarity and flavour. A rich and clean juniper-driven spirit, Silent Pool Gin is produced using 24 botanicals and the cool, clear spring-water from the Silent Pool itself. Floral notes of lavender and chamomile combine with the freshness of citrus, grounded with the subtle sweetness of local honey, to create a well-balanced gin that is both traditional and refreshingly individual in nature.
Brockmans is Like No Other gin. It stands proudly alone from the many other types of gin due to the unique recipe of exquisite botanicals and the patient steeping distillation process. To make Brockmans, exquisite botanicals are sourced from all over the world. These include some typical ingredients such as angelica from Saxony, Bulgarian coriander and juniper berries from Tuscany. The more traditional notes of gin are combined with a refreshing influence of citrus and aromatic wild berry. This creates an intensely smooth gin with a beautifully crafted taste that is sensual and daringly different.
Forest Gin is an exceptional, award winning spirit which is distilled in small batches at our distillery here next to the glorious Macclesfield Forest.
We are a truly family company. Lindsay & Karl Bond are the husband & wife team in charge of the still, bottling, management, sales & shipping.
Harriet Bond (aged 8) is the BOSS. She leads all foraging missions, and is an expert in knowing the best spots for juicy bilberries & ripe raspberries. Hattie would actually prefer it if you did not buy our Gin, as any left over berries end up in her porridge every morning.
Our goal is to make the best tasting Gin that we possibly can, from the finest locally sourced ingredients where possible. We do as much as possible by hand - right down to the bottling.
In 2016, Forest Gin was awarded an unprecedented TWO SEPERATE DOUBLE-GOLD MEDALS at the San Francisco World Spirit Awards. We nearly fell off our chairs when this was announced, as this places the Gin amongst the Worlds very Finest Spirits.
We are VERY proud of our little Gin, and hope that you love it is as much as we do.
